
28 April – SYDNEY, Australia: With profound sadness, beloved father, husband, brother, community leader, mentor and friend, Syed Atiq ul Hassan, peacefully returned to his Creator on Saturday, 26th April.
Throughout his life, Syed Atiq ul Hassan dedicated over 36 years to serving multicultural and Islamic communities across Australia, including the Australian Pakistani community.
He was among the leading organisers of major multicultural and Islamic community events, working tirelessly to foster unity and understanding among diverse communities. Syed contributed as a senior community leader, international journalist, educationist, IT professional, project and event management expert, radio and TV presenter, and media analyst.
Widely respected and recognised, Syed Atiq ul Hassan was the recipient of various Australian and international awards. He was known for his profound knowledge (ilm), unwavering dedication to community service, and commitment to promoting peace, education, and harmony.
Through his sincere efforts, Syed built lasting bridges between people of all backgrounds and made a meaningful contribution to Australian society. His example and courage was an inspiration for many within and beyond the Pakistani community.
His sudden passing is an immeasurable loss for the Australian Pakistani community and Australian media.
Prayers for the dearly departed were offered alongside Syed’s family members today at Auburn Gallipoli Mosque.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
